Dome 1 – Harimandar Sahib
I find the architectural details of Harimandir Sahib (Amritsar)very interesting, so I started to look at some the main elements of the structure here is a 3D model of the most common type of smaller domes which follow the perimeter of the roof.
Is the bottom (The Floral type pattern) hand modeled or is done by 3d mapping(Normal maps and displacement)
yes its hand modelled, just traced out a spline shape and then made some cuts, beveled out each section then just conformed to the dome then added a turbosmooth.
